I found Bank of the Sierra but it's not even anywhere near Los Angeles. I found UCU but it's too far. I live in San Fernando Valley.
Does anyone know of any financial institution serving Los Angeles, CA that offers passbook savings/share accounts?
Thank you!|||A passbook savings account is the same as a regular savings account. The financial institution has to issue statements to you, so if you don't want to deal with them, just opt for the electronic delivery and ignore the emails.
You are in control of how easy it is to deposit or access the funds. If you can have funds direct deposited into your account, that is the easiest way to put money in it. Establishing this account at a financial institution where you do not have any other accounts will make it harder to transfer the funds and the process will take longer. If the financial institution is not conveniently located, it might help you from going into the office and taking out money.

Hope this helps. Good luck.|||I've found answers myself, no thanks to Yahoo! Answers. East West Bank, First Republic Bank, and Community Commerce Bank. Is it that hard?

|||Seriously, forget the passbook. Just get a regular savings account at the bank most convenient for you, and don't take an ATM card. Sign up for e-statements then just don't look at them. If you need to check your balance, log in to their system. Just make sure that if you want to make a withdrawal, they can do it at the counter with just your photo ID.|||They all do.
