Game gift card expiry?

What does this mean. A Gift Card will expire and any remaining balance will be removed if the Gift Card is not used to make a purchase, top-up or balance enquiry during a period of 24 consecutive months. Where the balance on a Gift Card remains zero and there is no top-up or balance enquiry for a period of 180 consecutive days, such Gift Card will expire.|||It means the $ on your gift card will be lost in 2 years if not spent.|||If you don't use the card within two years, you'll lose all the money on it. If there is no money on it, and it is not used within 6 months, it will no longer be usable.
